Stone Wolf has been producing wines of quality and flair since 1998. At what is now a memorable place in time, owners Linda and Art Lindsay decided to combine their business skills and passion for good wine. Stone Wolf began with old vines that Linda and Art themselves planted in 1985. Little did they know of the work and luck that goes into producing wine from the notorious and finicky grape, Pinot Noir.

But luck they had indeed, for the Legend of the Wolf was on their side and success evolved. Soon they were winning awards and accolades far and wide. The most prestigious of which includes the 2001 Pinot Gris, winning the Best of Class Award list by Wines of the World along with the 2003 Pinot Gris being listed among Wine Spectator’s “Best Value Whites” in 2005.

In 2008, Stonewolf's Pinot Gris was noted as one of Rachael Ray's Favorite Brands, and Stonewolf's wines continue to receive a peppering of rave reviews.

“Our Pinot Noir is complex, our Chardonnay is lightly oaked and our Muller-Thurgau is refreshing.” – Linda Lindsay, Owner Winemaker

The stone wolf stands tall and proud as guardian of the vineyards. From his stone sanctuary, he silently protects the land, his watchful golden eyes wary of any threat. If you let the magic of the stone wolf fable grace you with it's spirit and strength, we believe you will discover the magic of the crop he safeguards - as fruit on the vine, the wine in your hand, and finally in the gift of a memory we hope you will rekindle again and again.

Welcome to the "new and improved" Stone Wolf Vineyards website. While the site has been around for several years, the job of updating information had fallen through the cracks. We now have a dedicated website team with a goal to update our information on a regular basis.

Time and again you will get to hear from Art "Papa Wolf" Lindsay and his trials and tribulations in the vineyard...

We find it especially satisfying to carefully follow each lot of grapes from the fermenter, to the bottle, to the glass.

Like children, some lots are capricious and require extra attention, while others grow in just the right direction with nothing more than a gentle nudge from time to time. Our traditional methods enable us to capture the unique potential of each lot, while staying true to the varietal.

Though selling wine is obviously an important goal for any tasting room, we want visitors of our tasting room to leave with more than a bottle of wine – we also want them to have gained a bit of knowledge of winegrwing in Oregon and take a sneak peek at the wonders the Willamette valley has to offer.
