Meet the StoneWolf Pack

Peter
Peter, the Business Manager, has been in the business longer than any of us. He started working at Amity Vineyards in 1982 and even despite the depressed economy of the time, the wine industry was going strong. With over 25 years in the industry, we've been extremely lucky to have him for the past 7 years. Peter's expansive knowledge of sales and winemaking skills has helped us through more situations than we can count. When we run into to trouble, he's our "go-to" guy!

Bruce
Bruce moved to McMinnville in 2002 to be nearer to his sister, who introduced him to Linda and Art when they were in need of some short-term bottling and labeling work. What Art and Linda perhaps didn’t count on was his reluctance to leave after becoming familiar with the backrooms of the winery. He and a friend decided to make themselves integral to the winery by reporting to work every morning despite the fact that their short-term work was over and they were no longer on the schedule. Their plan succeeded and now we can’t imagine what we would do without Bruce running the crush pad and the bottling and labeling crews. Up front in the tasting room, his explanations might be a tad long-winded, but it’s clear to all that he is passionate about pinot noir and Stone Wolf. As he says, “He’s a company man.”

Matt
A growing interest in Oregon wine and a visit to the Willamette Valley in mid 2005 had opened the doors towards a career in winemaking for Matt. Just two weeks after his visit, he re-rooted himself comfortably in Oregon. Originally an Indiana native, Matt had already acquired a major in Ecology and a minor in Philosophy from Purdue University in 2004. Now having graduated from Chemeketa’s winemaking program, class of 2008, he has been taking on increasing responsibility here at Stone Wolf Vineyards since his arrival, where his achievements have grown immensely! Matt has happily applied his winemaking skills, passion and best of all meet Jessica, his wife!

Linda
Like the rest of us, Linda (Stone Wolf Vineyards’ Manager and Vigneron) fell into the Willamette Valley Wine Industry by chance. After helping some friends plant Chardonnay on a rural property west of McMinnville, Linda fell in love with the land and the vines. It wasn’t until her friends offered to sell her that same beautiful property in 1996 that she and her husband, Art, considered taking their interest in wine to the next level. A real estate agent by trade, Linda applied the same people skills necessary to a real estate agent, to running a winery.

Art
Art, who we affectionately call “Papa Wolf,” is a successful lumber broker who works from his office at the Lindsay hilltop vineyards. If you ever need information on farm equipment or tending vines, he’s your man.

Though we all have very different educational and experiential backgrounds, a wide-range of interest has brought us to the wine industry. We make a great and diverse team. In acknowledgement of this, we choose to forgo traditional titles in favor of a simple “Winemaking Team” printed on our business cards. We feel that this lack of distinction makes us a stronger team, thus producing a better product.

"For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack"

-Rudyard Kipling
