The Lindsay Estates are where it all started. Linda and Art’s home and vineyards lie in the coastal hills west of McMinnville, Oregon. At 1,100 feet, it is the highest vineyard in the Willamette Valley. The altitude of the property lends itself to low, yet intense, yields. The vines themselves are mature as they were planted in 1985. These quality grapes are used to create the award winning Pinot Noirs that carry the Lindsay name.

It's been a great summer here at the vineyard. The degree days have been quite ample and we could be a week or two ahead of schedule. We first noticed veraison about two weeks ago and is just about complete. The rule of thumb is that harvest will occur approximately 45 days after it first appears, hence the early October forecast. We have pruned about a third of the fruit to maximize the ripening of the remaining fruit, and pulled leaves to allow air movement around the clusters. All in all it has been a very good growing season and we look forward to a great vintage. We'll have pictures here of the harvest when it happens. Check back in mid-October.
